Fundraising

Christmas Turkeys

In 2011, the club raised a total of 106 turkeys! We donated 10 to charities: 2 to Out of the Cold; 2 to ROOF (Reaching our Outdoor Friends); and 6 to St Vincent De Paul for families in need. Another great success for this festive season.

The club was fortunate to be able to offer 85 turkeys for sale in the fall of 2010, in time for pre-Christmas delivery. This initiative turned out to be a great success, with all 85 turkeys sold and delivered. Feedback came back that the turkeys were "juicy and delicious", "very tasty", and "just the right size!". Stay tuned, we are working on making this a club tradition...

Waterloo Food Bank Drive

Fundraising is not all about receiving, it's also about sharing the wealth and giving to those in need. The club ran a Food Bank drive again in the 2010 Christmas season in support of the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Our members very generously donated 101 pounds of food, and $290. That amounts to 26% more food and 16% more money donated by KWSSSC members versus the 2009 season. Thank you to all who made a donation for your generosity!

In 2011, our food bank collection netted 100 lbs of donated food this year. Thanks to all that participated with both events this season!

Bingo!

One of the major fundraising sources for our club comes from our participation in running Saturday night Bingo at KW Gaming Center, 501 Krug St., Kitchener. All adult members of the club must participate in order to support the cost of running this organization. Please arrive at KW Gaming Center at 5:45 for the start of your assigned shift.
